Team Mauritius, under the leadership of the Institut Escoffier , delivered an impressive performance at the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie 2025 held on the 24th and 25th January at Sirha Lyon, finishing 16th among more than 50 nations. Notably, Shivam Marooday secured 8th place globally in the individual ice sculpture category, showcasing remarkable talent.
Led by coach sandy subbamah/scioli, the team—comprising of Shivam Marooday, Iven Chithray and Pravesh Gokhoolah—presented creations inspired by the island’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Highlights included the Frozen Dessert, honoring Mauritius’s sugarcane legacy and local ingredients like Rodrigues vanilla, pear and cassis, the “Paradise Blossom,” which celebrated the island’s lush landscapes as well as the innovative Macatia ChocoCoco elevating the traditional Mauritian bread.

As one of the sponsors, we are proud to see how this team represented the island, blending tradition with artistry.
Congratulations to Team Mauritius and Institut Escoffier for making the island shine!
