The Mauritius Sugar Syndicate (MSS) is pleased to announce its certification to the Chain of Custody Standard of Bonsucro, the leading global standard for sustainable sugar cane production, processing and trade.
Through this accreditation, which provides assurance that claims of compliance can be tracked along the supply chain, the Syndicate will henceforth be able to market sugars produced by mills and farms certified under the Bonsucro Production Standard – a metric-based scheme for improving the social, environmental and economic sustainability of sugar cane farming.
MSS is the first Sub-Saharan marketing organization to be rewarded this recognition.
